    Floxin, Ocuflox (Ofloxacin)Ofloxacin (trade names include Ocuflox, Floxin, Exocin; Flovid; Floxal; Floxil; Floxin Otic; Floxal EDO; Floxstat; Monoflocet; Oflodex; Uro-Tarivid; Ofloxacine Sandoz; Surnox; Tariflox; Tarivid; Zanocin) is a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic from second-generation fluoroquinolones pharmacological group. It is used to treat bacterial infections of bone, joint, bladder, urinary tract, kidney, prostate, pelvis, respiratory tract, lungs, eyes, ears, skin and skin structure infections, various other infection, including bronchitis, pneumonia, otitis media, cellulitis, urethritis, cervicitis, cystitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, prostatitis, epididymitis, gastroenteritis, shigellosis, salmonella enteric fever, campylobacter , plague, anthrax, chancroid, infectious diarrhea, traveler's diarrhea, urethral and cervical gonorrhea, multidrug resistant tuberculosis; in veterinary medicine. Ofloxacin ophthalmic solution (eye drops) is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections of eyes. This medication is effective against infections caused by both Aerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, and other bacteria, such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Citrobacter diversus, Citrobacter koseri, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes. Ofloxacin can kill bacteria or stop their growth by stopping the production of essential enzymes needed the bacteria to survive.
